Personally, I've been using Zoho CRM for a few months now to manage contacts and fulfill invoices. I use Salesforce at my day job and Zoho CRM seems to mirror it fairly well.
I'd still like to look into some of the other tools Zoho has available to see what else may be of use. Zoho Projects sounds very interesting.
As far as other free tools, you can't hardly have a conversation like this without mentioning Google's subset of business products like Google Calendar, Google Docs and the rest.

I am big fan of zoho CRM, but you are absolutely correct. Google does have its fair share of online business tools as well, Zoho does have some pretty neat stuff though.
