Thank you so much for this explaination! I've been seing "beta" on everything lately and was a bit confused. I was under the impression that it was indeed a good thing and that I should especially download a program because it donned "beta" in it's title. I now see that I maybe need to be a little cautious about downloading such programs. Once again, thank you for this. -Connor Williams

I definitely agree 'beta' is being overused, or used to cover mass ass.
